Lonato is town and commune in the province of Brescia in Lombardy, Italy. Lonato is located in the middle of northern Italy. Lonato is believed from some scholars to derive from the Celtic term "Lona".

There is Castle, called Rocca of Lonato in the center of the town that is about thousand years old, the House of the Podestà with a library, which has about fifty-two thousand ancient books.
